About

Logan and Client

Logan is a music therapy professional originating from the Central Valley of California. His relationship with music flourished from a young age through taking violin lessons, playing in orchestras, and developing an interest in different types of music and instruments.

In 2016, Logan transferred to California State University, Northridge to begin his music therapy studies. He studied under the tutelage of renowned music therapists: Ron Borczon, Helen Dolas, and Julie Berghofer, and he practiced music therapy with diverse populations in practicuum experiences. Logan proceeded down his music therapy path, and in the summer of 2018, he embarked on his six month music therapy internship at Silverado Beverly Place, a large memory care community in Los Angeles for residents with Alzheimer's, Dementia, and Parkinson's disease. Here, Logan led individual and group music therapy sessions for the residents on a daily basis. Through this internship, he also conducted and presented a case study exploring the effects of a cotreatment program on the balance skills of a woman with Alzheimer's disease.

In 2019, he achieved his board certification for music therapy and relocated to Bellingham, WA to refine and expand his practice. Logan works as a music therapy private contractor, serving clients independently, in addition to adult clients referred through the Northwest Regional Council (NWRC) as a part of their Community Options Program Entry System (COPES) and Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP). More information about these programs/resources can be found at https://www.nwrcwa.org/

Logan believes music is expression beyond words and a means of connecting to ourselves, the lives around us, our environment, and our goals in life. Music is present in every culture and serves a critical role in our well-being. If you can talk, you can sing. If you can move, you can dance. If your heart beats, you have rhythm.
